Break Break in Kuantan

The Kepala leaves Last
Braving the waves
They don`t use kerbau here

Last weekend after a cousin`s wedding in Maran, we took a family breakaway somewhere in Kempadang not far from Kuantan. Stayed for a night a a small chalet just so my children can have us and the sand and the pool to play. If I had stayed in Kuantan at my parents place, we`d just be stuck at home helping in the kitchen, repair things or shop for things visit relatives.
The children had a great time and in the early morning I have a great time photographing the fishermen going out to sea. I woke up at about 5:30 and waited at the beach. Waited and it was worth it. Learned from the kepala that kena tengok ombok dulu, masa laut kuat lar ike-ike ni kumpol. Watching them braving the waves before getting enough depth to kick the engine was fun. If I were still single, probably I`d have joined them right then but I only had about an hour to make good before having to go look for breakfast for the children plus before the sun gets unfavorable. You see, I don`t have the luxury of a good lens, reflectors, tripod or even a basic flash gun. Nevertheless what I have is still better than many others and I`m thankful. Alhamdulillah. One thing for sure, Iwas blessed with a very good light that morning and no equipment can beat that.

Bro Boogey....

Nice seascape shots

A point to share : Horizon slightly slanted I guess but some might love it.

And the skies are really dramatic

Thanks for the comments. The horizon is slightly slanted. Not because I was thinking some people might like it but an indication I probably need to have an eye check. My hand writing also like that. Wed 27-Dec-2006 09:07

Some of the photos was previously published in my blogspot and I`m uploading it to fotopages just so I can use it as a banner. I just don`t know any other way.

This is my favorite: Solitude In Might. Shot from a hill in Parangtritis, Yogyakarta.

Favorite Composition. This is rather challenging as I had to fight off Ikelah and had to get to the very edge of a very high cliff.

Thanks. The idea is there. Only the proper lighting is absent. Thats why the eggs look rather dull. Sun 17-Dec-2006 14:47

The first camera I own is a Canon Joy which I bought from Kotaraya back somewhere in the 80`s but before that I already had the opportunity using my brother`s Fujica full manual SLR camera. Then I bought a Canon 1000 FN SLR, later a Nikon D90x SLR. Both are great cameras. I entered the digital age with a Kodak prosumer camera for a start but lost it in Istanbul. Now I own a D50 Nikon which I`m quite happy with. It`s not that grand as the D70s or D200 but as an amateur D50 is just fine. It gives me enough space for creativity, I learn to use photoshop and my limitation at the moment is only money to buy better lenses, special filters and a good flash gun. Taking this as a hobby and not having the time to generate income through photography, my funds are limited and therefore also limits me from exploring various technics which require additional equipments. The good thing about this situation is, I have many things to look forward to.
